RSVP Volunteers of the North Shore and SeniorCare hosted their annual volunteer recognition luncheon at Danversport on April 11, 2023.  The theme for this year’s event was “Volunteers Expand our Horizons.” More than a dozen local businesses and non-profit organizations participated in a Business Showcase as part of this year’s celebration.

SeniorCare Chief Executive Officer Scott Trenti welcomed the 160+ volunteers, local officials, community partners, and event sponsors, saying “Many local agencies, including SeniorCare, would simply not be able to offer the level of services available to so many people without your help.  Through this service, you improve the quality of life for all of us in each of our communities.” Ruth Lindsay, RSVP Director, also welcomed the group, expressing “Together, you do so much, and every act of kindness means so much to each person whose life you touch.”

Awards were presented to volunteers who achieved years-of-service milestones.  Many were recognized for 15+ years of service.  Volunteers who were recognized for 20+ years of service include Charlie Wilkinson (20 years); Margaret Coronel (20 years); Martin Fucio (22 years); Jackie Dort (22 years); James Dort (23 years); Rose McMullen (27 years); Norm Isler (31 years); Ida Christopher (31 years); and Tina LaFlam (34 years). In addition, the Presidential Award was presented to Phyllis Licis, and to Bette Obear for achieving 4,000+ Lifetime Hours of Volunteer Service.

This year’s Premier Sponsor was Institution for Savings. An additional 18 local businesses and non-profit organizations sponsored the luncheon, with 12 participating in the Business Showcase, including Institution for Savings, Cape Ann Savings Bank, Law Office of Julie Low, The Cabot, and Hammond Castle.

SeniorCare’s RSVP program, a grantee of AmeriCorps Seniors, thanks all the partner agencies, advertisers and sponsors, board and advisory council members, staff and–above all–our volunteers, for making this another memorable event.

Congratulations to all the volunteers whose service amounted to more than 44,000 donated hours at more than a dozen area non-profit agencies in 2023!
